What is the Break Free Conference About?

The Beginning of Something Great! Faith was introduced to Barbara George Johnson by a mutual friend in August 2014. We decided to met at Panera Bread just to get to know each other. Long story short, by the end of our meeting, we had had committed to each other to facilitate an empowerment Conference for women who lack the resources (financial and otherwise) to attend conferences that could uplift and inspire them.

A Glimpse of Past Break Free Conferences

April 2015 –  First Break Free Conference was held at Thomas Edison State College in Trenton. Eighty (80) women from various walks of life attended. The Conference was funded by in-kind donations. The guest speakers and workshop facilitators were mainly from Trenton and included the Honorable Judge Janetta D. Marbrey from the Vicinage 7 Superior Court in New Jersey, Dr. Ruth Perry from the Executive Director of the Trenton Health Team, Barbara Johnson, Executive Director, The Center for Health Policy Development at Thomas Edison State College and many more.

November 2016 –  The 2nd Break Free Forum will be held on November 5, 2016 at the James Kerney campus of Thomas Edison State College in Trenton.  A hundred and thirty-five women registered to attend.

Due to the generosity of may of our sponsors were had many great prizes  –  The GRAND PRIZE – a 5 hour photo shoot with Photographer Monica Marrow went to Deborah Raab! Deborah will be featured on Monica’s website for a month!

December 2017 – Thanks to EVERYONE who made this conference the success it was!

MELISSA JILL, Yoga Instructor Extraordinaire taught us some practical yoga moves and mediation that we can use discretely to get through our day and lead a powerful discussion in her session titled ‘YOU ARE ENOUGH JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!

AUDREY DAVIS – DUNNING, taught us strategies to honor our Goddess in DONT TALK TO MY GODDESS LIKE THAT!
 JEN SLAW, acclaimed “expert juggler” by the New York Times amazed, engaged, inspired and motivated us to generate positive change in MASTERING THE JUGGLE.

BARBARA GEORGE JOHNSON, who is an advocate and educator challenged us to use our power to make change in IT’S YOUR RIGHT!

KIM BECK from Princeton Breast Cancer Resource Center educated us on how to do our monthly breast examination properly and shared other invaluable information in HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR BREAST?
