SELF HELP QUESTION TO PONDER: Fear often cripple many of us and prevent us from realizing our dreams. What are you afraid of?
STEPS TO OVERCOME YOUR FEARS
- Become aware of what you’re afraid of. Make a list.
- Review each of the fears on your list. Are they real? In other words, what evidence do you have to support this? Give specific examples.
- Could some of your fears be based upon your perception? Do a reality check. Share your fear with someone you trust and who will be honest with you. This could give you new insight because so often, we are our worst enemies!
- Last but definitely not least, choose one of your fears and take an action to overcome it. For instance, if public speaking is one of your fears. Take a small risk, and volunteer to give an update at your weekly staff meeting at work. Get some support from a friend/coworker. Having a friendly face in the room can be helpful because this person is someone from whom you can draw some positive energy!
